Music has been my lifeline for as long as I can remember.
I grew up as a musician, learning violin at age three. From there, I went on to learn piano and viola, as well.
While in college, I joined a band and played electric violin for seven years, traveling around Florida and Georgia.
Although I’ve been a writer in some capacity since I was a child, music has always been the thing that gave words to my experience of life when I didn’t have the words.
I didn’t know until I started doing my own spiritual work that music was the way I learned to connect to my soul. It was how I felt passion coursing through my body in a way nothing else could. It became my immediate connection to myself.
While working with a coach in 2016, he asked me, “Anne, when was the last time you felt passion?”
“When I was in a band.” I remembered all my moments on stage, completely immersed and lost in the music.
Since then, I have cultivated other daily tools I use in order to remain connected to myself, but music still has its own place in my life. I create very specific playlists for different moods, experiences, and tasks. In fact, when I need to write but don’t necessarily feel inspired, I have specific songs that can immediately put me in a zone to create.
If you’re a music lover like me, I welcome you into my world! Enjoy my expression of my soul through music I’m currently obsessed with!
