Anne the person
As a Midwestern girl, I was born and raised in Iowa, although I did the majority of my growing up in Iowa City, IA. I was fortunate enough to have four parents (parents divorced and remarried) who each impacted the woman I am today. I grew up in the church with my dad as my minister (although I couldn’t run away from traditional religion fast enough). My step-mom was a traditional therapist, which impacted my depth of “tell me what you’re thinking and feeling”. My mom and step-dad were both teachers, which definitely informed my decision to go down the path of education (after initially flunking out my first year of college as an Economics major).
My first gut-informed major leap of faith was deciding to move to Gainesville, FL to create another life for myself after flunking out my freshman year at the University of Iowa. I ended up with a masters from the University of Florida, joined a band for 7 years, and taught first grade for 4 years (7 years total as a teacher) before picking up and leaving my life behind again.
From Houston to Chicago, married and divorced (and another “failed” relationship under my belt), teacher to nanny to coach, in 2017 I decided to take the biggest leap yet – sell the life I had built on the illusion of “safety” and hit the road with my two cats.

Anne the writer
I’ve loved writing since I was a child. I used to hole myself up in my room to write. It was a way for me to process my emotions. At recess, instead of playing kickball like the other kids, I brought a notebook outside and wrote screenplays.
In college, I wrote lyrical poetry, which was how I processed trauma and heartache. Once I became a coach in 2014, I began to openly share my story on social media, which is mainly how my writing has evolved over the past 5 years.
My writing has evolved from social media posts to blogs and newsletters to my email list. In 2016, I received the nudge to write a book, which very quickly evolved into ideas for multiple books beginning to flow through me based on my life and journey.
Anne the speaker
Speaking is not something I ever thought I would do publicly. I have struggled with fear of using my voice for nearly my entire life.
As a toddler I had encephalitis, losing the use of the right side of my body. Not only did the doctors tell my parents I would never walk or talk again, but the chances of me even surviving were slim to none.
As a young girl, I was shy and timid. I was so painfully shy that at one point, I wouldn’t even respond to my piano teacher when she would ask me questions.
Once I became a teacher in 2006, I began to feel much more empowered in my ability to speak to groups (even if the group I was speaking to was a classroom full of 6 year-olds). I began to rise up as a leader, becoming a team leader and leading workshops for other teachers.
In 2014 when I joined Network Marketing, I began to lead team calls and mentor others one-to-one. I became confident in my gifts and my voice and message became stronger and stronger.
My experience speaking has evolved from live videos on social media and vlogging, to teaching in-person workshops in Chicago and North Carolina, to consistent podcasting.
Anne the coach & mentor
My coaching and mentorship has probably evolved the most over the years.
My coaching journey first began in 2014 when I joined the world of Network Marketing as a Beachbody Coach. I mentored other coaches on how to build their own business, as well as my clients on how to live a healthy life.
When I noticed many of my coaches and clients were “falling off the wagon”, I knew I needed to add in an additional service to help them see long-lasting results.
Enter: one-on-one coaching.
Within a year of adding on one-on-one coaching, I knew I wanted to make a greater impact and I began to host online workshops centered around the importance of self-care and having a consistent morning routine.
I ended up leaving Network Marketing (only to return a year later) to focus solely on one-on-one coaching and teaching online workshops, which later evolved into having an online virtual classroom.
My message evolved from self-love and meeting your authentic self (which informed my 3-month coaching program – the Own Your Vibe process) to being a business coach for Network Marketers. My passion very quickly became merging the worlds of consciousness and Network Marketing – The Conscious Network Marketer.
I began to accept I had multiple passions – inner child work (shadow work), conscious parenting, authentic business, and how they’re all intertwined in some capacity.
Over the past 5 years, I have shifted from coach to consultant, finally settling into mentor.
My mentorship is the common thread experienced in my writing, speaking, and teaching. I came here to impact and influence through the work I put out into the world.
