Whole30 Day 2

January 3, 2014 by Anne Filed Under: Anne's Blog

I woke up on day 2 feeling much more clear-headed than I have in a long time. Even though I’ve been Paleo since May, I’ve had a few gluten free treats here and there and went pretty overboard with Paleo treats during the holidays. All of that I think contributed to me waking up more foggy-headed within the last month or so.

I’m finding myself getting slightly hungry during the day and wanting to snack. I’m trying not to just turn to fruit, as it has a lot of sugar (something I’m already cutting out this month). When I do my grocery shopping for next week, I need to add in more snacking veggies to have something else to rely on. Normally I’d have some nuts to snack on, too. I am trying to cut out nuts this month, too. One thing I noticed during the holidays is when I went overboard with nuts (spiced nuts, trail mix, treats made with almond flour), my belly hurt almost as much as if I had eaten gluten. I’m learning to listen to my body and am starting to be able to pinpoint what is causing physical issues.

Dinner was even more delicious than Day 1. I made a brat and sweet potato hash that was absolutely delicious and perfect for a cold evening!
